This zirconium flap disc with dual grit lamellae is ideal for surface grinding on stainless steel and high-strength alloys. It features a T29 conical backing pad and radially arranged flaps in two grit sizes and widths. As a result, the disc ensures wide contact, high cutting power, and smooth finishing—all in one tool.

The abrasive material consists of zirconia corundum grains (50% zirconium) applied to a poly-cotton belt. This combination offers:

• Fast material removal, even under pressure

• Better adaptation to steel and alloy surfaces

What makes this disc unique is its dual-layer flap design:

• The top flap is narrower and coarser for aggressive grinding

• The lower flap is wider and finer for smoother finishing

• As the top flap wears, the second layer takes over—extending disc life

Additionally, all flaps are machine-cut with ±0.5 mm precision. This improves balance and ensures uniform performance. The 7-layer fiberglass backing plate adds structural safety, while epoxy resin bonding keeps the flaps firmly attached under load.

For best results, use the disc at a 15˚–25˚ angle with a 125 mm angle grinder (minimum 1400W) that includes speed control.
